Each cover of Black Thought's Streams of Thought releases will feature artwork by a different Black American visual artists. Vol. 1’s cover art, by Rashid Johnson, features his previously created piece Untitled Anxious Audience. He explores similar themes and concepts that are found in Black Thought’s new music; memory and family, represented by Rashid in the materials of the work - Black African soap and Black wax, both items held in is Afrocentric childhood home; the collective yet individual black experience and associated angst, shown in both the presence and absence of Black faces on the piece. The artwork itself is a visual representation of the music, revealing an internal rhythm in the marks of the artist's hand.

Each cover of Black Thought's Streams of Thought releases will feature artwork by a different Black American visual artists. Vol. 2’s cover art by Leslie Hewitt features a newly created piece titled Riffs on Real Time (Stream of Thought) 2018. Leslie was inspired by “the lyrical flow of Thought’s rhyme schema, movement, and power, relating the art of his voice to how collage and juxtaposition [are] visual poetry” with “colors that feel lived in” and “70s carpet, 60s Polaroid, and 80s graffiti tagged book binding.”
